Located in the shadow of the Pennsylvania Capitol Complex, The Capitol Area Neighbors (CAN) is the neighborhood association that represents the businesses and residents in Harrisburg, PA bounded by Front Street and Third Street, Walnut Street and Forster Street.   Join CAN

  As a neighborhood association we are uniquely situated in Harrisburg's Central Business District, a Municipal Historic District and on the National Historic Register.  CAN is actively involved in protecting historic properties, promoting city living and working in conjunction with the offices and agencies of the City Government, Local Businesses and Property Owners to encourage positive development and revitalization efforts.

Fighting the Federal Courthouse, Round 2!!

  The General Services Administration (GSA) has once again targeted 2 sites in CAN as the final 2 sites for the location of the new Harrisburg Federal Courthouse. CAN, along with Friends of Midtown, Midtown Action Council, Historic Harrisburg Association and the NAACP - Harrisburg Branch are opposed to the sites at 2nd and Locust Streets and at 3rd and Pine Streets and are fighting to have GSA locate the Courthouse at 6th & Reily Streets. To help fight GSA join the "Right Site Harrisburg" coalition .
